Salty's Seafood and Rolls at Destin Commons
Commons, Salty's Seafood Rolls & Gumbo finds a home serving Award Winning Gumbo, and succulent seafood rolls. Local Chefs Dedrick Gibson and John Sallman bring an enticing new kiosk to Destin, Florida March 2012.
"It's all about the roux," said Dedrick Gibson, Salty's owner. "When you get the roux just right, it makes the gumbo go from good to great." Business partner, John Sallman, agrees as he stirs the roux watching it turn a gorgeous chocolate brown.
Gently warmed in butter, juicy lobster meat is cradled in a lightly toasted bun creating Salty's soon to be famous Lobster Roll. If warm isn't your style, you will want to try Salty's chilled Lobster Roll, or for the land lovers, a chunky fresh made chicken salad. A children's menu is offered, and crunchy Cape Cod chips make Salty's a great spot for a family meal.
Situated between the highly regarded Rave Motion Picture Theater and the children's play area, Salty's will bring a wonderful element to the Destin Commons center. The word is spreading about Salty's Seafood Rolls & Gumbo, in a very positive way, which is music to Sallman and Gibson's ears. "We're truly blessed to hear the support we're hearing before we have even opened our doors," said Sallman.
